These mini-classes and screenings are available to you and your team as a benefit for participating in Live Healthy Iowa 2018. The classes are 15 minutes and are led by a UI Wellness Intern at your worksite.
Protein Power!• What’s the rave about protein? How much do I need? Does it matter where my protein comes from? This lesson that will reveal facts versus myths about protein, which foods have more protein, and how you can sneak more protein into your diet.
Rockin’ Resistance Bands• Are you looking for a quick, inexpensive, and easy way to incorporate more strength training into your day? Join this interactive lesson on incorporating strength training into your day by using resistance bands! We will teach resistance band safety, five different exercises, and show you just how easy it is to perform these exercises anywhere.
Caffeine Crazed• Curious if those rumors about consuming “too much” caffeine are true? This lesson is about the facts and myths on caffeine its consumption.
Snoozing on Sleep• We all know that sleep is important, but why? Explore common mistakes on sleep and ways to improve your sleep hygiene.
Fitness Orientation• Take a break with your team and come to the CRWC for a 15-30 minute fitness orientation at the Wellness Services Suite.
Tour of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center• Head over to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center on your lunch break and receive a tour of the building.
On-site Blood Pressure Checks• Become more aware of your health with a blood pressure screening.
